The Buzzard's Roost - The Buzzard’s Roost in Key Largo has all the charm of what you hope to find in the Florida Keys, and none of the Highway-1 commercialism. Set at the end of a canal on a side street in Key Largo, The Buzzard’s Roost is actually part of a small marina, and you can sit right on the dock to watch boats come in. The landscaping is well-planned, with outdoor seating set under some shade, next to a small fountain and a tiki-bar. The space is so well-crafted you won’t even notice boats and trailors being hauled around the tables by a mini fork lift. In fact, it’s part of the charm of this excellent restaurant, and part of its authenticity. Eating at the Buzzard’s Roost and watching boats get lowered into the water, or watching crab boats come in with from gathering traps, or just watching yachts pull up to get gas, you get the feeling you’re witnessing daily life of Keys inhabitants. The food is excellent, with menu items such as barbeque sandwiches, and the excellent oyster sandwich. Service is prompt and friendly, and there’s inside seating with a bar in addition to outdoor tables.
