Diving the Lower Keys

Diving in the lower Keys is mainly all about Looe Key. It's seven miles offshore form Ramrod Key and protected with Sanctuary Preservation Area status. Good thing, since it's considered the most beautiful reef in the Florida Keys. It's named after a boat that ran aground at this spot way back in the Revolutionary War era. It's a Y-shaped reef with spur-and-groove coral. The water is incredibly clear here, and get ready to see thousands of fish and maybe some rays.
